Description
These closures with a butyl/PTFE molded disc are only laminated with PTFE in the area of contact with the sample. In this way, the elastomeric butyl can achieve a particularly good seal on the glass edges of the bottle, while fully PTFE-laminated septa have a very slippery surface on the glass and can therefore be easily rotated. These closures, often referred to as “Pharma-Fix”, have good analytical purity. The retaining webs of the predetermined breaking lines of the cap open at an internal cylinder pressure of more than 3 bar (± 0.5 bar) and thus allow excess pressure to escape in a controlled manner. The functionality of the bursting cap does not depend on the design of the rolled edge (beveled or flat rolled edge).
