Description

Special C18 (ODS) RP phase with monomer-bonded alkyl chains, “brush-type” structure. Based on the original NUCLEOSIL silica gel. This is one of the first spherical silica gels for HPLC and was developed by MACHEREY-NAGEL in 1974. It is manufactured exclusively in Germany and is still one of the most frequently used HPLC silica gels in quality control worldwide. Predominantly hydrophobic interactions with a small proportion of hydrophilic interactions. The dynamic protein binding capacity per g pack – 6 mg BSA, 110 mg cytochrome C. Maximum separation efficiency can be achieved if the injected protein mass does not exceed 1-2 % of the maximum protein loading capacity.
