Special RP phase consisting of polymerically bonded alkyl chains with exclusively hydrophobic interactions. Based on the original NUCLEOSIL silica gel. This is one of the first spherical silica gels for HPLC and was developed by MACHEREY-NAGEL in 1974. It is manufactured exclusively in Germany and is still one of the most frequently used HPLC silica gels in quality control worldwide. Dynamic protein binding capacity per g pack – 8 mg BSA, 64 mg cytochrome C. Suitable for the separation of peptides and proteins up to approx. 40 kD, also suitable for basic peptides.
