Description

Special C4 (ODS) RP phase with monomer-bonded alkyl chains, “brush-type” structure. Based on the original NUCLEOSIL silica gel. This is one of the first spherical silica gels for HPLC and was developed by MACHEREY-NAGEL in 1974. It is manufactured exclusively in Germany and is still one of the most frequently used HPLC silica gels in quality control worldwide. Predominantly hydrophobic interactions with a small proportion of hydrophilic interactions. The dynamic protein binding capacity per g pack – 14 mg BSA, 27 mg cytochrome C. is particularly suitable for the purification of larger, hydrophobic peptides and very different proteins. The maximum separation efficiency can be achieved if the injected protein mass does not exceed 1-2 % of the maximum protein loading capacity.
