Description
Silica gel-based phase for HPLC enantiomer separation. Principle modes of interaction – charge-transfer interactions, hydrogen bonds, dipole-dipole interactions and steric effects. To control the optical purity of a substance, the two columns NUCLEOSIL CHIRAL-2 and NUCLEOSIL CHIRAL-3 allow the selection of conditions under which the enantiomer present in lower concentrations as an impurity is eluted before the main peak. This avoids overlapping peaks and facilitates precise quantification of the impurity. Based on the original NUCLEOSIL silica gel. This is one of the first spherical silica gels for HPLC and was developed by MACHEREY-NAGEL in 1974. It is manufactured exclusively in Germany and is still one of the most frequently used HPLC silica gels in quality control worldwide.
