Description
Naturally occurring amorphous silica of fossil origin, also known as diatomaceous earth, bacillary earth or diatomite. Specially cleaned for chromatographic applications. Compared to diatomite gel, diatomaceous earth has a small, less active surface area (used in partition chromatography). After impregnation with various substances (kerosene, silicone oil, undecane), it can be used for reversed phase chromatography.
