Description
The use of precolumns is recommended to protect your HPLC main column from contamination. These short columns are inserted into a pre-column holder. The pre-column holder in combination with an inserted pre-column is mounted between the injector and the HPLC column. This installation prevents chemical impurities from entering the main column. This is because contamination could form an irreversible bond with the column packing material (stationary phase) and this can lead to a shorter service life of the main column.
